As I return from a rather long absence, I bring with me a new look as well as a new plan, neither one of which should be considered to be carved in stone. Still recovering from some unpleasant health-related issues, I have added to that some learning issues as well. A new computer which arrived running Windows 8.1, somewhat different from the Windows 7 that I was running, and a new camera, a Nikon D3200, which brings its own learning curve with it, since the only digital camera I have any experience with is the little point-and-shoot that I used for the pictures that make up the earlier parts of this Blog. My good camera that got stolen was an Exacta, and still worked with good old 35mm film. Hence, a little more learning.
So, since I really don’t like using the “Auto” settings on any camera that offers me a choice, I will be starting off quite slowly as I learn to use the “Manual” settings on this new camera of mine. At best, I figure the occasional gallery of 5-10 pictures picked from my various outings as I attempt to familiarize myself with the new equipment, and the better I get with the camera, the more intricate the offerings. Hopefully, you’ll stick with me through these early days, and I’ll try to at least keep it interesting. If I don’t answer as much mail as I used to, I hope you will bear with me as I am still getting back to full activity. Thanks, and we’ll talk some more later.
Well as you can see, while I’m learning to use my new camera, I’m also trying to have a little fun with it, so I hope you don’t take things too seriously just yet. Give me some time, and who knows, before you know it, I might even remember to take the lens cap off BEFORE I click the shutter release. Until next time, everybody stay safe, and healthy, and keep those blog postings coming. See you then.
