When I woke up this morning I was greeted by a couple different things. First, my confused Christmas Cactus, which had budded a while back, was once again in bloom weeks before the arrival of the day it was supposed to celebrate. Second, I was informed that today was the first day of Hanukkah. So, it occurred to me that the confusion was not necessarily on the part of my cactus as I had always supposed (since it had never actually ever bloomed on Christmas), but in fact it might be myself that had been mistaken all these years, and what I actually possessed was a Hanukkah Cactus. So I don’t know if there’s such a thing or not, but as far as this year goes, since the timing is so perfect, I’ve decided to let my little cactus help me wish all the people in the world who find themselves celebrating this holiday, which begins this day, Happy Hanukkah! This Gentile hopes you have a great one.
