Well, as this rain has settled in once again (still far better than that slushy snow we had last year), it has finally reached that point of persistence where it has me craving the brighter days of summer, although at this point, I’d settle for a couple cool Spring evenings; just no more rain for a day or two. Anyway, whenever that happens, I just reach into my laptop (figuratively speaking of course), and pull out a picture or two that serves to remind me that those warmer days are in fact approaching quite rapidly, and will soon enough be upon us. So since I took the time to warm my own heart and soul up, how could I refuse but to share that experience with all my favorite folks? So here you go, these are they that worked for me, and perhaps one or two will help to chase away any Winter blues any of you might be feeling also. I certainly do hope so, and I wish you all the best as:
Outside my window, the rain is beating the time,
to the song in my heart, where the Son of God shines,
as the sun that is hidden by those clouds up above
is not needed when my heart is warmed, by the free gift of God’s Love.
So there I was, taking a break from on-line activities for awhile, and devoting myself to some studying and organizing, when I decided to get some air, and take a walk through the park down by my new apartment (which is also the nearest park to my old apartment – funny how that works). Never one for traveling without my camera, I grabbed it on my way out the door thinking I might get a shot or two of the harbor, or the mountains, for when you folks get tired of the older shots that I’ve been showing lately on these pages. Instead, in exactly the way that these things happen to me so often, I just took a wild series of shots at a seagull that was swooping through the air past my head, and without any credit to myself at all, every one of the shots came out clear enough, that even when I zoomed in the shots to bring the bird up to size (it was already roughly 100 ft past me when the shots were clicked), they all came out clear enough to show them to you here today. The gull was also working so hard pumping it’s wings, driving itself into the air, that the 5 shots I managed to click each caught a different stage of the down-stroke of one single beat. I’m certainly no engineer, but even I can see the aerodynamics at work both in the way the bird is capturing the wind with it’s wings, and also how streamlined the whole animal is in order to reduce any wind resistance. But enough talk, the pictures say it way better than I ever could. So I hope everybody is healthy, happy, and of course, in this crazy world of ours, keeping safe. Until next time.
Well, since I’ve been inspired to get back into my writing these days, and since I’ve been wanting to try my hand at a full-length novel for some time now, that’s exactly what I’ve been doing for the past few days. The working title is Shadow Warrior, and the genre is Science Fiction/Fantasy, with the stress on Fantasy. I’ve just managed to cross the first 3000-word threshold and things are going quite well. Well enough that I’ve been neglecting a few other things and then finding myself arriving at the decision that that’s OK, as long as it doesn’t get out of hand. Some sacrifices just have to be made if I’m going to put the time and effort into this thing that I believe it deserves. However, when I look at my Blog Stats, and see that I haven’t had a single visitor all day, then I figure it’s time to refresh the material. So here we go. I hope everyone finds something to enjoy, and I promise to try and not leave it up too long before refreshing it this time. I’ll also try and keep you all up to date on just how much progress I’m making with my latest project. For now, however, have a great week, stay safe, and we’ll see you soon.
